My new installation don't work in Spotify

Hi everyone,
I have installed today Spotify on my new PC from Spotify site. I presume have installed the “Microsoft Store” version, and Equalify don’t work.
I have tried many times yours suggests for resolve (uninstall, rebooth, installing the desktop version of Spotify, or delete and then copy the Spotify folder from another PC. Ecc. ecc.)
I think that in every installation, the Store version (hidden in the pc?) overwrite always the desktop versione downloaded from Equalify web site, and block Equalify.
We have also removed every Spofity key with the Regedit.exe before the next installation, without succesfull.
I need Equalify correction, and I wait for you resolution.
Thank
Luca
New PC with Windows 10 Pro - 1809

I have been told over at the Spotify forums that there is no way around it. They say “The Windows 10 Store version is the supported version.”

For some reason i forgot about this thread since the discussion ended up happening in a different thread that was posted about the same subject the same day.

Please follow this thread:

I have tried today the last procedure that i have read in the top of this page. I Have tried two or three times.

The solution proposed isn’t usefull e don’t work. For me.

Every times I’m starting the app, automatically it turn in Windows Store Version. I can see the message “Migration…”. and the icon is changing from the green/black to green/white.

Then, the app folder that contains spotifymigration.exe ecc. ecc. is totally empty. All the files have been cancelled in the migration.

Is very frustrating…

Are you 100% sure you did this step correctly?

You can also try running this command in the same window after the one above:
Get-AppXProvisionedPackage -online | Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -online

Yes, i’m sure.
I have folloed at 100% the procedure.

I have tried another two times

Here the icon after installation

here the icon after launch the app

This message has been visualized only the first time I made the procedure.

As you can see the first command returns an error, so its not run…

I do not understand Italian(?), Any chance you can translate the error message for me or copy/paste the error message?

The last one is traslated from google traslator

Try this:

That will stop the migrator from running for the normal install and the store install (after you reboot)

Uninstall all versions of spotify before you reboot.

I believe that the red text is apparead the two o three times i have tried. I believe to remember that the firsts times was not visualized

I had think the same solution…

Please try the registry fix and see what happens.

This is a problem that Microsoft and Spotify has made. They are “partners” and Spotify (the store version) is bundled with Windows in some areas.

The guide should work though…

Now is well working, but every times I launch the app, this message is visualized to me. I click OK and then start Spotify correctly
a

The message said that:
Operation aborted
On the compuer are activated some restrictions
Contact the administrator of system

great, that means the migrator was blocked. Now try the Powershell commands again. And make sure you delete the SpotifyMigrator.exe from the normal %appdata%/Spotify folder

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers Spotify | Remove-AppxPackage
The procedure that you have suggest have correctly worked

Spotifymigration.exe is not present in the folder

Remain the message at start app

Spotify do not work, is not possible to launch it.

I have seen that the Windows Store version is automatic installed again
